Who CANNOT get eyelash extensions?

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are made from synthetic fibres that are semi-permanent. They are used to create more length and volume of the natural lash. This requires the client to have some natural lashes to attach the extensions to.

What is used to make the eyelashes stick?

A medical-grade adhesive is used. The adhesive contains cyanoacrylate. If you have never had lash extensions applied before, we should do a patch test. Please Book "CONSULTATION" No Fee Appointment to do this.

How do I know if I am allergic to Lash Extension Adhesive?

If you do not know 100% for sure, I need you to book a "CONSULTATION" No Fee Appointment.
During this quick appointment I will add 2-3 very fine small lashes that are unnoticeable to each eye. After 48 hours, if there are no increasingly adverse affects, then we can proceed with the appointment. If you develop excessive swelling and tears that won't stop, please see me and I will safely remove the 2-3 extensions I applied. (No Fee Of Course!)

Do you Latex products in your Salon?
I Do NOT use any latex products. I am allergic to them myself.

Do you have scented candles or anything? I am sensitive to scents.

NEVER! Because of my experience in a Health-Care setting, I know how critical heavy perfumes and other scents can be to someones health. PLEASE NOTE: If a Client arrives to an appointment with heavy scents, I will need to reschedule your appointment. It is unhealthy for myself to be in such close proximity to someone and breathe in heavy scents for 2 hours. I will always respect your health and not expose you to perfumed scents and I ask that you kindly afford me the same courtesy in return.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

There are very specific things you need to do prior to your appointment . Failing to do these tasks will negatively impact your Lash Extension Service. Please CLICK HERE for details.

Can I just come with makeup on and you do the lash cleansing?

I have found this never works well. Imagine me applying cleansing soap and then rinsing it off while you are laying on your back. It will definitely get in your eyes. Your eyes will be irritated and we may not even be able to apply the lash extensions due to eye irritation. There also could be issues with the lash extensions not staying on because there is residue from the cleanser remaining. Book A "Face/Lash Cleansing" Appointment in addition to your Lash Extension Service if you require time to Cleanse your face. I do not extend appointments because you needed to wash your face.

Can I wear make-up and/or use eye creams/serums with lash extensions?

Yes, you can but certain products may highly impact how well the lash extensions stay adhered. There are an abundance of serums and creams that many use for their skin, and it's hard to tell which will or will not impact the retention but the best thing to go by is to make sure it's OIL-FREE!

Does getting Eyelash Extensions hurt?
Eyelash extensions should not hurt when applied correctly. The process of applying eyelash extensions involves using professional tools and isolating one lash, and then using a medical grade adhesive, the extension(s) are applied to the natural lash. It is important you choose a Lash Artist who is certified from an accredited institution. These artists have been trained to apply correct lengths and weights to your lashes.

Can I get Lash Extensions if I am under 18?

YES! You need your parent or guardian to attend the first appointment with you just to fill out the New Client Documents in Person and then they leave. Insurance only allows the client I have the service booked for to be in the Salon. Parents and guardians are free to come before the date of the scheduled appointment as well. BOOK a "CONSULTATION" No Fee appointment . All future appointments for the year you can come without them.

Are eyelash extensions just for younger Women?

NO! NOT AT ALL! Women of all ages get Lash Extensions. Often as time goes on, our hair begins to thin and so do the lashes. A set of lash extensions can create that full look once again. If you're looking for a less dramatic look with lighter-coloured lashes, please contact me. I can special order in various shades of brown lash extensions. There is no extra cost. I just need a few days notice as I need to have them couriered in. AGAIN, No extra cost to you! (Please be advised that only "Classic Lite" and "Classic Full" are available in brown-coloured lashes currently.

I have sensitive skin and eyes. Can I still get lash extensions?

The answer to this question isn't straight forward but in short, I believe the answer can be a yes. I have a variety of adhesives and different methods for application. The only way I would give an absolute "NO" is if you've been told by a healthcare professional to not have them. I encourage you to ask your Family Physician prior to the appointment.

How long do Eyelash Extensions Last?

The amount of time that Eyelash extensions can last can vary depending upon the type of products that are used during application and also the type of aftercare that they are given. Aftercare is in YOUR hands. The cleansing and other care you give to them. Your natural lashes will grow out and fall out as well as during the growing out, the lash extensions will begin to go in unfavourable directions. This is why it is recommended that you have an infill appointment booked every 2-3 weeks. Another factor is the Natural Lash Growth Cycle. Click HERE to learn more.

Can I bring my kids?
Due to Health and Safety Regulations I cannot accommodate children. This time is for you!

Can I bring my fur baby? (Pets)

Due to health and Safety Regulations I cannot accommodate animals.

Can I bring someone with me?

I can only have the client the appointment is for in my salon. Insurance only
allows me to have the client I am currently working on in my salon.

How do I know what appointment to book?
If you are unsure, I would suggest a consultation appointment be scheduled.
There is no charge for these appointments. Alternatively, you can text or email
photographs to me and I can do my best to let you know. (I would need a close up
side view, view from above, and a photo looking straight ahead. I would need this
for both eyes. A total of 6 photos)

I need a LASH FILL, which Fill Appointment do I book?

If you have at least 50% Of Lash Extensions remaining, you can book a 2 Week Fill. If you have less than that but not less than 40%, You will book the 3 Week Fill. If you have 30% or less left, you will book a new set. If you just don't know, text me a couple pictures. A 2 week fill appointment is shorter than a 3 week fill appointment. Sometimes I have time to accommodate a longer appointment. If I assess your lash set to need a longer appointment and I can add the extra time, I will advise you before I start. Otherwise your appointment time will remain the same. Please be sure you are booking the appropriate appointment. I seldom have the ability to extend appointments right on the spot.

Is there anything I have to do while getting lash extensions?

Getting lash extensions is a relaxing experience. I have a heated bed and fresh
linens for every single client. I play gentle relaxing music and most clients sleep.
When people talk, their eyes will move and this causes their eyes to be exposed
to the lash extension adhesive. This will often cause the eyes to water and
moisture in the first 24 hours critically affects retention. I have some clients
that will bring headphones and listen to their own music, audiobooks, or a podcast.
I have wifi that is complimentary for your use while you are here.

Can I use my phone during the appointment?

Your eyes will be closed for the entire procedure. You won't be able to look at the phone. If you have to have your phone in your hand to receive a phone call that is fine but I stop applying lashes while you are on the phone and your appointment will still finish at the scheduled time.

I am not feeling, is it ok for me to still come?

If you are unwell, please reschedule. When your body is unwell, you will are
more likely to develop a reaction to the lash adhesive even if you never have
before. I also do not want to contract and continue the spread of germs. If
I notice you are unwell, such as a fever or cough, I will have to reschedule you.

What happens if I'm late or don't show up for an appointment?

I am running a legitimate business and my time is just as valuable as yours.

How long is the appointment?

All NEW CLIENT Appointments have an additional 30 minutes added to the appointment automatically so there is NO NEED TO COME EARLY. Just arrive at your scheduled time. For a New Client Volume Set it is 2-3 hours. For a New Client Hybrid Set it is 2-3 hours.
For a New Client Classic Set it is 2.5 hours. A Sassy Set is 45 minutes. Most infill
appointments are 1-2 hours. If you are coming from another salon for a fill, it could be
2+ hours as I have found that many times I have to remove several lash extensions before application of my own. I am in PERFECT standing with Alberta Health Services. Because I take the time to follow guidelines and rules associated with Infection Prevention Control Canada. Such as correct hand washing to name one.

Can I fill out the NEW CLIENT FORMS Online before the Appointment?

Why do I need to give my address and Emergency Contact information on the NEW CLIENT Forms?

My insurance requires me to have this on file. If you were to have any sort of a medical emergency while at my Salon, I will always call 911, I am not a doctor. I then will contact your Emergency Contact for you. I care about every single one of my clients and I would want the same care and concern given to myself.

I saw a picture/video of these really long super lush and thick lashes,
can you make mine look like that?

What you see on the internet is not always best. Lash extensions are meant to enhance your existing lashes. I want you to love your lashes. If you have a very specific look in mind, please contact me prior to booking your appointment. I also do not do MEGA VOLUME SETS. Mega volume sets are created by hand making lash fans with 8+ single lashes into a fan that is placed on one single natural lash and all three rows of your natural lashes will have these applied.

What is a CLASSIC Lash Set?

Classic lashes are single lashes. One classic lash is applied to one natural lash.(The thickness
of a single classic lash I use is 0.10, 0.12, or 0.15mm, I also carry 0.07 for very fine lashes)
What is a VOLUME Lash Set?

Volume lash sets consist of creating a lash fan of 2 or more very fine lashes to create a fan
that is then applied to one single natural lash. (The thickness of the lashes I use to create
a volume fan is 0.03, 0.05mm)

What is HYBRID Lash Set?
Hybrid Lash Sets are designed by combining Classic Lashes singly to your natural lash,
as well as creating Volume Lash Fans and places throughout the set. I personally LOVE Hybrid Sets. They are very customizable. I find these work great for clients who like to fluctuate in fullness, have lash damage, or sparse lashes.

What is a Sassy Set?

A Sassy Set is a quick lash appointment for those that want a temporary look or don't have the ability to attend longer appointments. I apply 10-15 Mega Volume Fans on each eye. You can come back when it's convenient for you. There are no fill appointments for this service. Book A NEW Sassy Set each time.(I use 0.03mm 6D and 0.03 10/12D Lash fans)

Why are your prices so low and affordable compared to some other places?

I know right?! But seriously speaking, I can't really comment on what other artists are charging. What I can say is I know the economy is struggling currently and I don't want you to "break the bank" trying to feel good about yourself. I have received an abundance of positive feedback for keeping my fees low and offering Promotions through out the year. Whether it's been in the form of gracious comments or very generous tips.
What can "I" do to make sure my lash extensions last?

I am glad you asked!!! I would advise that you follow the pre-procedural steps leading up to your appointment as well as the pos-procedural steps. A few other things that can cause lash extensions to fall off prematurely are:
-
Constantly Touching your lashes (The natural oils in your skin affect the adhesive, causing it to break down)
-
Taking Oil Supplements or eating an overly high in fat content diet. (These oils transfer into your hair on your head and skin and... you guessed it- your eyelashes)
-
Using face regimen products or cosmetics that contain oil. There are many hidden names for these ingredients and I am encouraging you to research your products. I had my own personal journey creating a face routine that only uses authentically oil free products.

If I have a lot of active acne on my face is that ok?
I understand how painful this can be physically and mentally. Trust me. I wash my hands thoroughly as well as use medical grade hand sanitizer before I touch my tools or your face. My only concern is that when my hands are on your face we could end up spreading the bacteria around creating additional break outs. Might be a good idea to bring some bandaids and I can assist you in applying them to problem areas or you can purchase those little acne dots from a pharmacy. (Internet search them. Very helpful product)

PLEASE NOTE: If you suffer from a skin picking disorder (also known as excoriation disorder), I will not be able to apply lash extensions. Often a person who suffers from this will have extensive open sores and are Very susceptible to various infections.

I have an appointment today but I think the weather says it might hail/snow, do you have covered parking?

I do. I have an additional spot in my garage. Please text me ahead of time if you require the use of my garage.
